Almedica International (Allendale, NJ) has completed construction on a new and expanded clinical trial materials primary packaging suite at its Almedica Europe�s facilities in Deeside, UK. The new, larger rooms will be fully validated to CGMP standards. 

The Converting Technologies Division of DT Industries has become Sencorp Inc. (Hyannis, MA). The change followed the purchase of assets from DT Industries. DT Converting Technologies, a consolidation of the former DT Industries Armac, Sencorp, and Stokes companies, was formed in 2002.

Steris Corp. (Mentor, OH), a provider of contract sterilization services, has expanded its current Steris Isomedix Services operations in Chester, NY. The company recently purchased a second high-volume gamma irradiator in Chester that provides services to medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial customers. This new processing system also enhances the company�s integrated service structure throughout the Northeast. Steris has additional sites in Whippany, NJ, and Northborough, MA. 

ELAU (Shaumburg, IL) has been named 2003 Supplier of the Year by Uhlmann Pac-Systeme (Laupheim, Germany). ELAU has been Uhlmann�s automation system supplier for the past 9 years. In that time, Uhlmann has become an ELAU partner customer, providing ELAU with feedback on hardware, software development, and applications engineering topics. ELAU was given high marks by Uhlmann for its service, quality, delivery, and overall business value. It was also noted for its PacDrive purchasing system and a streamlined production process that it developed in cooperation with Germany�s Fraunhofer Institute. 

Product identification equipment manufacturer Videojet Technologies (Wood Dale, IL) has acquired ALLTEC GmbH (Selmsdorf, Germany), a manufacturer of laser systems for coding and marking. The acquisition gives Videojet a strong position in the laser coding market and positions the company as a single-source supplier for coding and marking needs, according to company representatives. Together, the two companies will provide a full line of coding and marking products.

Legacy Packaging (Earth City, MO) has opened a new production facility in Earth City. The 100,000-sq-ft facility provides contract packaging services for biotechnology companies in the St. Louis region. It is CGMP compliant, FDA registered, and DEA licensed. It also contains three ISO Class 8 cleanrooms and supports the pharmaceutical, nutritional, and consumer product industries. 

Anderson Packaging Inc. (Rockford, IL) has announced the company-wide implementation of the PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne ERP system for its contract packaging business. The system enables the company to track production, order processing, and deliveries for its customers in a real-time environment. The resource also facilitates compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
